I've just settled down to read Private Eye no 1221. Anyone who has read PE before will be aware of their "number crunching" features: basically they take some number that has been, or should have been, in the news and compares it with some other relevant numbers...
£0m, pay-off that will go to Royal Bank of Scotland Chief Executive Sir Fred Goodwin, forced to quit as a condition of government bail-out.
£2.86m, performance bonus Sir Fred Goodwin received for his work last year manoeuvering RBS into position where it needed a £20 billion bail-out.
£8.37m, pension fund built up by Sir Fred Goodwin at RBS.
