He's not the only one; Michio Kaku is another prof I'm aware of that shares similar beliefs.

Advances in nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, neurology and other areas of quantum physics and genetics as a result of computer power increasing at an exponential rate are really changing the face of physics, and indeed the world.

Some AI experts appear genuinely scared at what we might be in for in the next 30 years.

E.g. quantum and atomic computers are becoming a reality which will chnge things drastically. 30 years ago, a computer cost millions of pounds. Today, we all get them for free in our mobile phones - there are billions being used.

It may not be long before we can plug our brains directly into computers.
